Hunger haunted the hollows of your heart where my absence left you empty. You wanted attention. Views. Likes. Comments. At first, these from anyone would do. Admiration from the masses filled the gnawing emptiness within you.
Until you got my attention.
Then, anything less would not do. I had only to sit back, watching your efforts to consume me grow wilder and wilder. A little starvation here. A little there. I became your white whale.
Screen light reflected in my eyes as I smiled, knowing your next step would be to find me in person. I’d baited my trap perfectly.
